NYC DOE Irish American Heritage & Culture Committee Sponsors Annual Educators Seminar on February 6
The NYC DOE Irish American Heritage & Culture Committee will once again sponsor the Neil Shanahan Educators Seminar on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 6pm.
The seminar welcomes both educators as well as non-educators and will be held at the UFT headquarters (52 Broadway – 19th floor). The topic is “Brexit: A Challenge to Peace in Ireland” presented by Ray O’Hanlon, distinguished editor of the Irish Echo. The committee also invites schools to participate in their annual Art Contest to express a facet of the influence of the Irish in American life: history, literature, art, music, drama, dance, labor, sports, etc. The theme for 2019-2020 is “People of Ireland in America: The Good Friday Agreement; Preserving Peace and Meeting Challenges.” Click here for more information on the rules for entry.
