Judge Rules in PS 25’s Favor
New York Judge Katherine A. Levine ruled that PS 25 should not be closed — for now. At an emotional hearing in which she grilled the lawyer for parents suing to keep the Brooklyn school open and the lawyer representing the DOE trying to close it, the judge decided to keep her stay in place.
“My gut sense is the school will operate for a year,” she said. “It could well close the following year depending on how this goes.”
The happy plaintiffs are pictured here on the courthouse steps.
