CSA Joins In Honoring Juneteenth
Juneteenth commemorates a declaration of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas in 1865, and each year it serves both as a celebration of freedom and an opportunity to recommit to the fight for racial justice in all aspects of American life. CSA joins all those honoring the holiday tomorrow and applauds the Governor for his pledge to introduce legislation to make Juneteenth an official state holiday next year. We encourage our members to find moments to honor Black Americans who have fought for a more just and equal society throughout our nation’s history and reflect on how we can continue their work.
