Big Party for CSA 50th
Half Century of Unionism
by Anne Silverstein

CSA will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a gala dinner/dance at the Waldorf Astoria on April 27. The party will be the culmination of a number of events still in the planning stages.

An anniversary committee has been meeting since earlier this year to plan the party and related events, said CSA Executive Director Operations Anita Gomez-Palacio. In addition, CSA has had a special 50th anniversary logo designed to commemorate the year.

Annual Meeting
Mindful of the cost, the CSA officers have decided against holding two major events in one school year, however, and will not present its annual Educational Leadership Conference in the fall as it has for many years. The union will hold its annual membership meeting as required by the CSA Constitution on Nov. 8 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Food and Finance High School (Park West High School campus, 525 W. 50th St., Manhattan).

New Members Reception
Another date for our new members to jot into their calendars for the fall is Oct. 13. CSA will host a reception for new union members at its Brooklyn headquarters, 16 Court St., 4th floor. CSA is located near most subway lines: A, C, F, R, 2, 3, 4, 5.
