Legislative Victory for CSA - Early Childhood Education Bill Passes Both Houses

CSA’s Early Childhood Education bill passed the New York State Senate and Assembly this week and will be sent to the Governor for executive action. The bill, drafted by CSA and sponsored by Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan and Senator John Flanagan, directs the New York State Education Department, the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and the New York State Department of Health to review all learning standards, guidelines and policies governing programs providing services to children from birth to age 5 to determine if they are aligned or misaligned. In a year, a report is to be issued with recommendations for aligning all learning standards, guidelines and policies to ensure that they are consistent and that all children receive a quality early education.  CSA thanks Assemblywoman Nolan and Senator Flanagan for their unwavering support of education and their efforts to help get this bill passed.
