The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is seeking educators to participate in test development activities for the New York State Teacher Certification Examinations (NYSTCE) Content Specialty Tests (CSTs) in the Arts. These certification exams are for teacher candidates seeking certification in Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts.
NYSED is looking for New York State educators who hold permanent or professional certification in New York State and are practicing in the teaching of the arts, supervise programs in the arts, or New York State educator preparation faculty who are preparing teachers to practice in the field of the arts.
Qualified educators with expertise in the teaching or supervising programs for the arts, including those with experience with ELL and SWD populations, as well as educator preparation faculty who are preparing these teachers, are encouraged to apply. Attached please find a memo outlining the NYSTCE test development process for programs in the arts.
The NYSED invites all educator and educator stake holders to nominate highly qualified educators by clicking HERE.
Please provide all nominees with the attached description of the test development process and ask then to complete the online application located HERE. The first activity will be Framework Reviews which are scheduled for October 18-20, 2017
