Help CSA Continue to Fight for You!

Join the new LDC Program

CSA is pleased to announce the creation of the Legislative District Coordinator (LDC) program, providing you with a new and exciting way to actively participate in political and legislative affairs on an ongoing basis. The LDC program will assign volunteer members to interact -- individually or in teams of two -- with their local, state and federal elected representatives, fostering ongoing relationships that will benefit schools and advance CSA member priorities.

Priorities and Opportunities

Our member priorities include:

  • Your school budget
  • Your health benefits
  • Your seniority rights
  • Your pension

Participation in the LDC program provides you with the opportunity to:

  • Stand up for children
  • Protect your rights

  • Network with your colleagues and elected officials

After Retirement
In years to come, you can continue to improve the lives of children and educators through volunteer LDC participation. CSA’s Retiree Chapter has a longstanding Volunteer Legislative Coordinator program in the greater Metropolitan area, including New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland Counties.  The program focuses on both retiree and in-service member priorities.

What’s Next?
CSA Government Relations staff will provide coordinators and co-coordinators with ongoing training, information and guidance throughout the year.  We will occasionally ask LDCs to call, email or meet with their assigned legislators on specific topics and to occasionally represent CSA at fundraisers or other social events for elected officials.

If you are interested in the LDC program, please fill the form below. If you would like to speak to CSA Government Relations staff to learn more, please contact Herman Merritt at (212) 823-2020 for information on NYC activities and Alithia Rodriguez-Rolon at (718) 316-8403 for information on Albany activities.

We hope you become part of CSA’s efforts to advance our priorities at City Hall, in Albany and in Washington D.C. and we look forward to getting to know you better.
