Get Paid for Serving Your Community – Be Part of the Electoral Process!

Registered voters in New York City will soon vote on Primary Day, September 13th and Election Day, November 8th.  To ensure voters are comfortable and confident while voting, the Board of Elections is enlisting your support, and encourages you to become a poll worker on Primary Day or Election Day.  In addition, the Board is also recruiting bilingual residents fluent in Spanish, Chinese or Korean to serve as paid interpreters on these days. Poll worker and interpreter applications are due August 31st – and the Board encourages you to apply!

To become a poll worker, you must:
•          Be 18 years of age or older
•          Be a registered voter residing in New York City
•          Be a registered member of the Democratic or Republican Party
•          Successfully complete the poll worker training program and pass the exam
•          Be willing to travel within your borough to your assigned poll site
•          Be able to work on Primary Day, September 13th and/or Election Day, November 8th
 
To become an interpreter, you must:
•          Be 18 years of age or older
•          Be a resident of New York City
•          Be fluent in English and the identified language
•          Successfully complete the interpreter training program and pass exam
•          Be willing to travel within your borough to your assigned poll site
•          Be able to work on Primary Day, September 13th and/or Election Day, November 8th
 
 To apply to be a poll worker or interpreter, follow these easy steps:
•           Visit www.vote.nyc.ny.us to download an application or call 866-VOTE-NYC (866-868-3692), TTY 212-487-5496
•          Read carefully the requirements, complete an application, and return it to the Board of Elections office in the borough of your residence.
