State legislators heard from school leaders on issues including increased investment in community schools as CSA's political affairs team led a daylong trip to Albany on Monday, Feb. 13.
Among the 2017-2018 budget priorities and recommendations advocated by your union:
* Significant increases to Foundation Aid, part of an effort to ensure educational equity is not put on the back burner.
* CSA is backing $150 million for community schools, hubs that bring academic, health, mental health, nutrition and other services to students and their families.
* Your union supports the DREAM Act, a legislative initiative that would expand educational opportunities for immigrant youth in New York State.
