CSA's Executive Leadership Institute Holds Privacy Workshop

Creating a safe online environment for middle schoolers was the focus as the CSA's Executive Leadership Institute held its mid-year mentor and consulting meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 8, with the principals and assistant principals in attendance hearing from experts from the Fordham Center of Law and Information.

The discussion included ways of introducing the concept of privacy and its importance to students, in the context of computers, cell phones, social media and email, and the potential danger of posting a public status about vacation plans.

Educators also explored ways of discussing with students what can happen when drama, bullying or embarrassing things happen online.
