General Membership Meeting Date Announced

The Retiree Chapter will hold its general membership meeting in conjunction with the Educational Leadership Conference on December 6th. The chapter will honor Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan, the chair of the Assembly Education Committee and a longtime supporter of the city's schools and labor.

The membership meeting will follow a sumptuous breakfast and plenty of time for chatting with your colleagues. The registration link for retirees will be posted next week. You may also register for the CSA luncheon at that time.

The conference will be held at Hilton Hotel Midtown. NY1 anchor Cheryl Wills will keynote the conference. She is the author of "Die Free: A Heroic Family History," an account of her ancestor, Sandy Wills, who served in the Civil War as a member of the United States Colored Troops, and her father, Clarence Wills, who was the first black firefighter at Engine 1/Ladder 24 - the oldest engine company in Manhattan. Ms. Wills will relate her foray into historical research for her book as it relates to today's curriculum challenges.
