Principal Wanted in Provision of Arts Education
The Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts is looking for a Principal who will be charged with the implementation and monitoring of the Harbor’s educational model in the provision of arts education and experiences for aspiring students.
The Principal will provide administrative, curricular and instructional leadership. The Principal is accountable for: Ensuring high standards of academic and arts achievement, implementation of individual learning plans capturing of data for all students, ensuring an inspirational culture and a strong school community where teaching and intellectual engagement thrives, ensuring efficient and effective systems exist for operational success and that students, parents, faculty and staff are well supported, ensuring effective planning for budgetary decisions, and inspiring team leadership and accountability.
The successful candidate must have a master’s degree in education, a NY administrative certificate, a minimum of seven years experience in teaching and working with children, a minimum of four years of administrative experience as a Principal and/or Assistant Principal, demonstrate excellent leadership and organizational skills and ability to motivate people, demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research relating to learning, have a passion for improving educational opportunities for students and experience with, or background in, the performing arts.
